Can you wake surf behind a 2000 Malibu Response LX with a wedge? My sons want to try this. Do we need a long or short board? I have 1 fat sack and 2 side sacks but dont really know how to arrage them. I want 1 in front to keep the nose down, but does that defeat the back bag?
Thanks

If you have a small boat get a big board. I’d make a recommendation but then I’d have to make a disclaimer.

Putting weight up front reduces the height of the wake but makes the pocket longer. Start with you ballast in the back and surf side. Then if needed move it forward.

i have a 1999 malibu response, 250lbs in the front, 250lbs in the side, 1000 lbs fat seat in the back(off to the port side) and you should be good to go. if that doesn't work, put a couple more hundred lbs in it.
