Yo fellas, will orwood be completely shut down this weekend for the comp, or will people still be able to launch from there?

A lot of us are locals myself and gary we live only 6 minutes away. But it is a great time to go camping. Good people and a lot of fun. It's not the distance you travel it's the activity you enjoy. BG jill has a car trunk full of firewood should we tell gary?. Orwood will be selling breakfast burritos at 7:30 at the outside bar at the restaurant. Their will also be food for sale at the event.

Bryan,

Just show up for the registration and enter, then go out ride and have fun.

Look for Gary & Stacy (should be doing registration) or any of us in the blue shirts about helping out!

See you out there and when is the new boat coming in?

Just curious but what kind of tricks are being done in the intermediate division. It says 2 spins and an invert and I was just wondering. I know I know just go out and have fun, but from a competitive stand point whats a winning run in intermediate look like?

CIE Will be in the house as usual. Come on out and check out the DRA in it's new location. Should be killer. We're trying to get a crew together to camp saturday night.

Did someone say fireworks? Ha, ha, ha.

can anyone explain how a pass works, i.e. # of falls allowed, distance or # of tricks, is it down then back, who's boat are we riding behind, does everyone ride at the same speed and the same rope length, this is my first comp and just want to have a little game plan before i go out and flail on my head. thanks guys. one more thing does the dra mandate a helmet i did not see that in the rules and dont have one, so i would need to barrow one from my buddy before i get there. thanks guys

Bryan,

Can't answer all the questions but for a few. No helmet required, bring your own rope/handle and you decide the length and speed of the boat, two falls, one pass each direction. Can't recall what Gary said but I know one of the tow boats will be a Moomba, not sure on the other. See you out there!

The lower classes are being pulled with a Moomba LSV and the Upper Classes (Intermediate-Outlaw) will be with the Supra 22SSV. The boats may change but currently that is what we are planning.

about what time are the intermediates going to be riding at ?
Old     (westsidarider)      Join Date: Feb 2003       08-18-2007, 10:43 AM Reply
well the contra costa county sherrifs are officially not the smartest. they showed up this morning and shut the event down despite aproval from county officials, saying that if anyone was pulled that poeple would go to jail, and that they didnt know what the fine would be.

instead of encouraging a family atmosphere they are discouraging it and now more people will probably be riding in the waterways mad and disruptive.

That sucks. We came back from riding around 12:15 expecting the Advanced and Outlaws to be getting ready to ride and were surprised when there was no DRA. I guess that's why BCII was out on Old River. It's been a tough year for DRA. I hope you guys can get it back on track.

Wow what a buzz kill. We are leaving at 2 to go launch. Guess we'll just cruise old river and look for the BCII
