buying my first inboard. gonna get on during boat shows for next season. leaning towards the moomba mobius ls. Looking for something under $35,000. Is moomba the only game in town or what? from what i can tell in that price range moomba has the best features. But I'm open, entry level or not, i like to be positive about a purchase in that price range. Any other suggestions on buying would be great too. I'm a young family guy with two boys. oldest is 6 and can ski. i'm a beginner wakeboarder, grew up slalom. i'm really interested in wakeskating and surfing. thanks bryan

im pretty sure that thats the only one you can buy new in that price range, maybe a used boat? most dislikeable thing about moomba is its shallow inside, you kindof feel like your on a deck.

Do a search on 2006 models of Moomba on this site and wakeboarder.com. The 2005 Mobius LS hull will become the 2006 Outback V hull. The new LS hull might be deeper.

you can get a REALLY nice used inboard for that kind of money. I personally think you are better off getting something that is a few years old. You should be able to find a used CC, MC or BU that still has a few years left on the warranty as well. They will also hold more resale value. Just my .02

Bryan, i just picked up a 2004 Supra Launch in that price range. If I were you, I'd start looking at something used rather than new. There are tons of newer used boats available. Peace

You can get a nicely equipped NEW entry level inboard from ANY manufacturer for under 35 if you shop around and/or find a previous model year. You can buy a nice reputable boat and add some more bells and whistles as you go. You're entering a sport where people will tell you that you must have certain options immediately or you will not be happy. This is just my .02 cents You can save some $$$ by: Buying a boat with a strong motor and learning how to manage the throttle. Perfect Pass is great, but you don't NEED it. Tower lights, speakers, amps, binding blasters, and so on are great but you dont't NEED them. Add it all as you go, it'll give you something to look forward to. Example: I just sold the 99 MC prostar in my profile for 1,000 less than it was purchase for in 2000 (left over model) and am looking at a fully loaded X-9 (left over model) for 38. I'm not bashing anyone, especially those that can afford everything at once because if I could have I would have. If you look around you can find a SMOKING deal. B

You can get the 06 mastercraft X-1 for $39,999. Great price for a sick boat.

Brian is the X-9 you are getting a Demo or is the dealer trying to clear out it's inventory? What is the best way to work a sweet deal like and X-9 for 38k?

Grier, The X-9 isn't a demo and has been sitting inside the showroom for more than a year. I have no clue as to why it hasn't sold yet, other than the fact that more people are wanting V-drives now. They still have it listed for 42 and some change but the salesman made it VERY clear that 38 would do it. Perfect Pass, upgraded stereo, tower lights/speakers, binding blaster, tandem color matching MC trailer with disc brakes, No work involved ! You just have to look around and be willing to travel. Someone will have a boat that hasn't sold for some reason. This dealer also has an X-2 for 43 and an X-10 for 44 and change. Maybe I'm just lucky being close to a dealer with less mark up than others? The downside of this is that their service dept sux !!!! What do ya do for Uncle Sam, I'm an F-15 Crew Chief

Marilyn has boarded with us a few times while John was deployed. Small world.....uh internet. Have a good one. Brian

what kind of $ is a sanger dlx. i don't think the financing is attractive enough on used boats to justify it. the only options i'm getting from the factory are an mpi, and a tower. and a wakeplate.

You could get a new dlx for under $35K I think. Sanger's are all over the place out west (espec. in N. Cal), but not sure how easy they are to find out in your neck of the woods. Not too familiar with the Moomba, but the Sanger's are well put together nice boats. Not as fancy as the big names, but are an excellent value.

Houston Watersports Complex carries them, and I think there is a dealer in Dallas. I personally think it is worth the drive to look at them at least.
