We just traded our 04 switch v. We could get a pretty good wave on the port side, and a better one on the starboard side. We loaded the boat up with 1900 lbs of ballast. Put everyone on the side of the boat that you want to surf on. The biggest key that we figured out was to put 2 people in the bow on the side that you are surfing, this allows the wave to get a little longer and cleaner. With that setup we usually ran taps at about 3-4, just play with it until the wave cleans up.
