Does anyone know how Raequel Hoffman is and when she expects to be riding again? The reason I am asking is that my daughter dislocated her shoulder a week after Raequel and started riding again on Thursday, less than 3 weeks after it happened. I was wondering how normal this is.

just plan it it popping out very very often. Unless you go thru a few months of rehab and most likely surgery, it will happen every time it get tugged in the same way it popped out. it takes a long time for the joint to close after it happens. I popped mine out playing football 13 yrs ago went thru 2 months of rehab. To date its prob popped out over 200 times since.

Chris, I think a lot depends on the amount of ligament damage that occurred on the first dislocation. Unfortunately I agree with Soli, when I did mine I had the same experience, after about 25 times over about a 3 year period I gave up and went under the knife. What is the Doc saying?

Both my shoulders pop out if pressure is given in the right place. Thankfully they pop right back in by themselves. Not too much pain, enough to make me wince...but then again I have a pretty high pain tolerance sooo I'm not sure how your daughter will take it.

If she started riding again in less than three weeks, it must not have been too serious? When I dislocated my right shoulder the first time, I couldn't put my arm up over my head for almost a half a year without it popping back out and having severe pain. Hell, I couldn't even lift it up for almost 2 weeks.

But me being me, I didn't go to the doctor until quite a while after it had happened, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Good luck to her, and if there are any recurring problems def go see the Doc.

I took her on Tues and was stunned when he said she could start riding on the Thurs. He worked on her for about an hour and twenty, told her to rest for 36 hours and ease back into riding. She has to go back Tues and barring anything unforseen will be good to go.She didn't tear anything but still...........

I have 3rd degree AC separation in my right shoulder and I lost at least two ligaments. I went in to a shoulder specialist and she said my collar bone dislocates every time I move my shoulder forward. Despite this, my shoulder is stable some how and doesn't give me any pain. Usually an injury like mine would require surgery, but the Doc was pretty amazed and said I probably didn't need it as long as I keep the joint strong.
