Well since I'm a JL audio fan, I went with the 450/4 black amplifier to push my new three-some wetsounds. Man I tell you they are awesome. So clear and no distortion. I have owned several other tower speakers and these are the best. I have to give prop's to the people at wetsounds.

the jl 450/4 is not enough power to run that threesome setup. you cna get away with that power on the pro 80's but hte 485 will sounds much better with more power. try 2 300/2's.

^^ What he said. Which 2 channels are you bridging for the 485? You're giving either that or the 80's too short a stick :-)

sam , doubling your power only increases 3 db of sound and you are not even doubling it with your suggestion . As long as you have no distortion now , i would leave it alone . Good choice on speakers though . Wetsound are awesome !!!

Jeremy a 3db increase in sound is fairly significant. Also the increase in power allows the speaeker to play lower frequencies better (louder) w/o distortion. It takes more power to play a low note than a high note. Side by side (all constants equal) your ears can tell the differnce by just adding 50 watts.

what about the Arc 4150 pushing two Pro 80's and a sub? is that amp pushing enough power for them?

specs: 80x4 @4 ohms, 160x4 @2 ohms, & 320x2 @4 ohms bridged

Mark, that amp would work, but why spend $800+ dollars on tower speakers and notpony up a few hundred bucks and get an amp that will push the pro 80's with the right amount of power. If it was me, I'd use the arc 4150 (bridged) on the pro 80's and pick up a class D amp for the sub.

Tony, I used the 3-4 channels to bridge on the 485. It doesnt cut out or sound distorted all. Well at least it is loud enough for me. I can hear it while being towed just fine.
