Just installed pp stargaze (gps) on my '01 carb. LOVE IT. name says it all, perfect pass.

if your debating btw paddle wheel and gps, then the decision should depend on if you are running on flowing rivers or not, and how much signal loss you can expect.
stargaze = super clean, quick, easy install / very very accurate (when not in flowing water), but potential to lose signal.

paddle wheel = put a hole in the boat, and it needs to be accurately placed or you lose precision, but will be very accurate in flowing waters, and no worries of signal loss.

both do rpm based as an option.

(FYI i never have signal issues)
