I am looking at replacing my 4 Clarion MC OEM tower speakers with a fiberglass enclosure that will hold 4 of the JL M770-TSC speakers. Does anyone know of companies that make fiberglass tower speaker enclosures?

Thanks for the help.

Tom,
check out liquid trends, you could probably get an enclosure without speakers from them. Where are you located?

Thanks for the link to Liquid Trends. I just looked through their web site and I like what I saw.

Does anyone on WW have the Liquid Trends enclosure? If so, how do you like it? How does it sound?

Tom,
If your handy with tools and fiberglas, you could make your own as well. DIY is a path many of us have taken to get a truly one-of-a-kind enclosure. And they are all sturdy!

liquid trends makes a great fiberglass encloser never had mine vibrate loose and I have never had any problems w/ it. Liquid Trends has always stood behind all there products could not say enough good things about them I have sold hundreds of there systems and no problems.

You can also check out Tidal Audio for gel coat fiberglass enclosures.

Tom,
I can not get the Tidal Audio page to come online, but give it a try. If that doesn't work you can give Jason or John a call (209)569-0763

I got it to come up last night and I looked at their stuff. However, I just tried it a few minute ago and could not get it to come online either. They have some pretty cool boxes.

I also talked to Jonny at Liquid Trends and was very impressed with his knowledge and helpfullness.

Thanks for the links.

Sorry I haven't been on the forum, it's been a little busy lately.

Tom it was great talking to you glad I was able to help you out.

Bryan, seen the Sanger yesterday, then came across it on Craigslist??? What's next?

Thanks for all the positive feed back from the crew.
I would like to clear up one piece of bad info. Our boxes do not shake over 25 mph, they handle Freeway speeds as well as chop very well. Of course this all depends on whether the installation was done properly.

As for price, you get what you pay for. It you want cheap stuff shop ebay or buy used. Then try to return it when something goes bad. We back are product 110%, no questions asked.

So, all of you guys that have tower enclosures, I have the following questions.

1) do I need 4 or 6 speakers to get the music to the rider? We ride with a 60 foot rope.

2) should I go with 6.5", 7" round speakers or the 6x9s? I have seen alot of enclosures with 6x9s in them lately.

It's a preference of how much at the rider vs. how clean a sound in the boat.

Your use is most important, for example here is my usage.

75% party, family time, hanging out.
15% boarding
10% Surf

In a case like this 4 6x9 will get the sound out, 6 6x9s will do the job a better both will keep a clean sound in the boat.

Also important is how much power you apply to the speakers you are using, the more the merry'r.
hope this helps...

Chas and Chris we need to get warmed up for the year, you call it when and where. Got to get something started before the first DRA event, we need to be in full swing by then.
