I know that there's always a lot of people asking "what board is right for me?" on this board...hate to add another one to the discussion but some constructive advice would be much appreciated for my friend who is looking at buying a used wakeboard.

He was offered a 2003 142 Obrien Cobe for $100
His skill level is slightly beyond beginner
Weight = 205 lbs
Aggressive rider, but not very smooth
He doesn’t want to bother with testing out a board. (impulsive buyer)
Just wants someone to tell him what a good board is so that he can progress into it
Plus he probably won’t know the difference between a “bad” or “good” feeling board

My thoughts...$100 isn’t a big risk so just buy it. But this looks like a pretty advanced board and can see him potentially getting frustrated (especially with cupped rails)

Your thoughts would be much appreciated!

does anyone think this board might be too advanced for a beginner/intermediate? Or is it a nice quality board that he can work into with some practice.

Cobe is STILL riding for Obrien. One of the nicest guys in wakeboarding and deserves alot of respect. One of the first world champions.I spoke with Cobe himself and he said that it is a great board for a bigger guy. He thought it was probably the Oasis and said it was perfect. (especially at that price)
