billy or max, would mind describing the differences in riding between the 2? I think that may help Ryan out a little more. I've ridden the new Murray and liked it a lot, I'm also curious how you feel the shane compares. They are two very different boards, no?

Have not ridden the Murray, but I have ridden the Shane 136. I absolutely LOVED it.

After that demo, just to be sure, I demoed the Watson, Ron1x One, Byerly, Natural, and none of them compared. I think I am done screwing around demoing everything, I love the shane and that is what I intend to buy.

Tyler - The '06 and '07 Murray are the same.

I hated the Byerly... not sure why, but I did.

The center fin was out of it (I have been riding my State 140 with no center fin, still a great board by the way, and my second favorite to the Shane) and it was too hard for me to stick a landing. Perhaps I really sucked that day and was not fair to the Byerly, but I really did not like it at all.

The bindings on the other hand are awesome! If you don't mind using slime to get OUT of them.

The setup I have settled on is the Faction bindings and the Shane board. Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the 06 and the 07 Shane other than the graphics?

06 and 07 are the same shape. There may be a difference in the core, I think that the 07 is lighter, could be mistaken...

The '07 has smaller molded fins, and lighter. That is about it I think.

Love my '07 Shane. It's a very stable and relax board with a really good pop and forgiving landing. It took some rides to get used to it, but within 5 rides I board better then ever (still not that good ;-) ...

Haven't tried the Shane so far (I'd love to), but I've ridden the '07 Murray a couple times behind a '07 Air Nautique 220. This board has a very strong, incredibly smooth wake to wake pop. It rides like a dream, even my bunny hop 180s were twice (!) as high as on any other board I've tried before (including my '05 Murray and '04 Absolute Platinum, which are very good boards). Definitely recommend the '07 Murray! It's light and loose on the water, sets a hard edge - if you want it - and pops like a mutha. I will for sure buy one and probably combine it with the new Shane bindings
