So I have a 1.5 farad cap for my system and in the process of rewiring some things I accidentally arched the cap. Are capacitors really sensetive to this, could this have shot the capacitor? Ever since I did this it seems that the sub sounds sloppier(aliteration), but it might just be my mind playing tricks on me. Also, I have 4 tower speakers that I'm running with a two channel amp, delivering about 125 watts to each speaker, is 14 guage thick enough to run a pair of speakers in parallel? Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!

Daniel I would not worry about the Cap it should be fine. Electrically a CAP is a waste of money. A nice marketing ploy but do little to nothing for a stereo system. As far as the speaker wire 14 gauge is more than enough. here is a great website about electronics that will help you in the future and dispel alot of marketing myths.

I second the cap is a waste of money. Add a battery or two and upgrade your alternator. Make sure all of your power conections are thick enough gague.
