I spoke with Barrett today and she will give me daily updates with what is happening in Australia at the WWA World Championships.

Weds- Riders started arriving today from around the globe to this sleepy seaside village of Maroochydore on the Gold Coast of Australia. The site is at Marshall's Lake about 20 minutes inland. There is a wakeboard lake and a wakeskate lake. The action will get heavy this weekend but some of the amateurs will ride Thursday. In the meantime the riders are enjoying the local ammentities. Barrett hit the local cablepark while Laura Lohrmann and Austin Hair hit the local surf. Some of the world's best surfing is found on the Gold Coast of Australia.

Maroochydore and Mooloobala are located about an hour and a half north of Brisbane. Brisbane is in Queensland on the east coast of Australia about mid point on the continent. It is beginning of the spring and the weather is great. Sunny with temps in the 60's at night and reaching the high 70's in the day.

I met Barrett this past weekend & she was a very nice gal & obviously very talented. It seemed that she has two personalities when it comes to wakeboarding though. Super cool & chill when just hanging out but then switches to ultra serious and kinda closed off. She wasn't happy with her riding and kinda had a pissed attitude the rest of the day. Which was weird because the night before we were all laughing & having a great time. She mentioned heading out for worlds & we all wished her luck. I think we need Barrett to come to CA and rekindle the pure stoke for riding. Anyhow I'm rambling, tell her good luck & keep us informed.

I spent last winter in Australia and was fortunate enough to get to ride at Marshall's Lagoon as well as the cable park at Bli Bli. I think this is a great place for worlds to be held and I'd love to see some pictures!
