Problems with my Mercury Engine

Hi Guys, nice board!
I have a Mercury 40 hp, 2 cyl. engine from 1995. When I start it up, it just runs a few secs then hufs and pufs til it comes to a halt. I thought at first it was the TPM module, so I bought a new one, but it still does it. The ignition systems is okay, so is the magnetic valve to the chocker, and the fuel pump.

Does anybody have a clue on what's wrong with it?

sounds like a classic 2 stroke seize to me...

Did it get hot or run out of oil?

Pull the head and you are likely to see scored cylinder walls and chunks of metal in the piston.
