Yep. Many, many times. Buy a #10 (a #10 is way better than a #8!!) countersink drill bit, the type with the regular 1/8" drill bit in the center and the larger counter piece. You might want to place a piece of masking tape over where you're going to drill, but I never do. Drill the hole with an electric drill and let the counter sink run in about 1/8". I would use a battery operated drill to run the screws in ... slowly. Do not force the screw in!!! If it starts to get tight, back it out and re-start.
