My dash had several large cracks. It was made of some kind of expanded foam, then covered in a splatter type paint finish.
I put a bit of glass and resin over the cracks at the rear, added some bondo to the cracks, sanded smooth, then applied high build primer in a splater fashion to the filed areas and then sprayed the whole dash. Once done you could never tell it was cracked.
2 years on its a good as new and no further problems.
