The good news is that lake levels are up.

The bad news is I had to change / cancel reservations because my campsite is under water.

My buddy was heading up to New Melones today when he got the phone call that he couldn't have his campsite. Kind of bitter sweat.

If Melones gets any higher half the lakeside camp sites will be under water...we were there three times this week and the sites are right at the water line already with plenty of snow melt left to go.
Also careful for debris up river by the bridges...there is big pieces coming down.

It's amazing how many of the sites are under water -

Yeah it is. We were up there this weekend. I think its ridiculous how anal they are being about not letting you access the water from the campsites. We were in 99-102. We wanted to put our boats in the area of 106 (underwater). Park ranger came by and told us we couldn't do it. When asked why he said there are underwater hazards. We informed him that we are very familiar with the location of the hazards he still said no. I asked would the be responsible for any damage I incurred again no so I said then what does it matter. Still ended up moving. Oh well. Great weekend anyways.

Yeah, we were there too. This roof is right where your submerged campsite sits. My kids and their friends couldn't wait to check it out.

We were pretty amazed by what we saw.
