need some input - was at the boat show earlier this year and after talking to various dealers - it pretty much came down to a partially or even fully floating dock - the lake bottom is only 2 - 3 ft near shore but drops to over 8ft (plus 2ft of muck) within 25ft out.

Boat lift holds solid as the outer legs are not as far out but the dock is an issue. The current dock is old (partially steel and the prior owner put a wood dock extension at the end) and has to go - really wobbly.

Has anyone a floating dock he/she would recommend? Menards has currently the playmate on sale and it's "really cheap" compared to what I got quoted so far (single aluminum section w/o decking and floats is on sale for 339, floats are 80/ea and you need 3 per section plus decking material - so if I add this all together I'm probably coming away with less than 3K.

I'm also contemplating partially floating - so the sections to the shore being on solid legs and the 2 ones making the L being floats.

Any suggestions/hints?
