hey guys I was wanting to get some input on on the boston acoustic gt50 amp. the spec sheet shows that it only puts out 55w per channel at 4ohms I have it running the wet sounds three some pro 80's each on a channel 485 bridged. does the gt50 even though it puts out less power, does it put out cleaner power than lets say a kicker 800.4

sorry for another speaker amp ?

no the gt 50 is a great amp if you want to run a full system 6 tower speakers 6 interior speakers and a sub or two dropping ohm load down too 2ohms and interior speakers to 1ohm It will run all day. The gt 50 is not the best choice for any horn setup they require alot more power you might look at the gt 24 or eve the gt28 by boston.

those are only two channel amps I would like to stick with at least a four channel. are the kicker amps good amps for the money? I can get a 800.4 for about $280.

Jarod,

You can bridge the GT-50's four high-pass channels into two channels to drive the Pro80s. Add a GT-22 or GT-24 bridged mono to drive the single Pro485. This will optimize both impedance and power.

I suspect that the Kicker will give you more than enough power bridged on the Pro485, but the two stereo channels running the 4-ohm Pro80s may be light on power. Check out the 4-ohm stereo rating on the Kicker before you buy.

The ZX850.4 will do 176W's to each Pro80 and 426W's to the Pro485 when bridged,
