Engine cutting out after 10-15 minutes.

Anybody have an idea of what could be happening? My '01 Malibu Sunsetter VLX starts fine and runs perfect for a little over 10 minutes, then cuts back to idle speed only. I've had the fuel filters replaced (dealer's suggestion), but that didn't help. Could this be a water pump issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like your going into "limp" mode. Idle speed to protect the engine from overheating. I had this happen when trash plugged the water flow at the oil cooler. Had to remove the cooler and clean it out. I installed a "weed basket" to prevent from reoccurance.
