Ok. So, I've started looking at the CWBs. I cannot demo any of the boards and I'll be stuck with the one I choose for the season.

I'm 5'8 199lbs intermediate. I like a board that is responsive and charges pretty hard. I like hittin the flats.

I keep reading contradictary statements about the boards. Marius...fasted board in our line....rides like a log...flats board...wake to wake board.

I've heard relatively nothing about the absolute and there are hardly any reviews.

Please, please advise....

I am also considering the Shane.

Go for the Absolute, great in-the-flats board, good pop and feel. That is, if you want as 3 stage rocker. If you have been riding a continuous board, I would suggest the new CWB Faction. It has tons of pop, is fast and has very soft landings(also very affordable).

Go for the Absolute out of the boards you mentioned. In my opinion the new 07 Cwb Transcend is the best board out, get you a 142cm and you will be stoked on the ride it does EVERYTHING GREAT!!

Here's my last few boards...
HL Belmont 134 (continuous), liked it. (Obviously I wasn't always 199 lbs)

HL Premier 140 (subtle 3) and liked that.

Byerly 142 (abrupt 3) can't say that I appreciated that one.

LF Balance 140 (Subtle 3) and liked that but felt like it was a bit small for me(because of the boards tips.)

I've been told that if I liked the Premier that I owned that I would love the Absolute...T of F?

The Shane scares me a bit because of the 3stage rocker.

I'm just unsure of the Marius. Why is it that in the last WB mag all the pictures of the Marius is ridden finless.

holly sh@t I'm going to drive myself crazy with all of this...

If I'm not mistaken, pros are riding without the center fins because they want fast release off the wake, know how to edge properly so they don't rely on fins (duh...), it forgives more on landings and that they usually ride in perfect conditions for photo shoot... it might explain why the marius and almost every other boards are ridden without the center fins in mags...
