The Virginia Tech wakeboard team is heading to the 2014 Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals down in Shreveport, LA this year in hopes to make it to the top of the podium. We are currently practicing behind a not so reliable 1989 Supra Marauder with a tower. The contest is being towed by a new Moomba or Supra (not sure which yet), and we are in desperate need of a bigger wake to practice behind. Last year the team placed 4th in the nation and 3rd the previous year, our team is eager to take the title and wants to stomp some new tricks before the competition. If you live in the South Western Virginia Area (Smith Mountain Lake, Claytor Lake, etc) or might be a Virginia Tech Alumni, then we need your help! Things that would help us....
1). You have a wakeboard boat and can help us train by taking us out on the water. Compensation would be a VT Wake T-shirt or hoodie, $ for gas and time, a spot for you at our spring game tailgate, and riding tips from the Virginia Tech Wakeboard Team.
2). You have a wakeboard boat and would be willing to loan the boat to us until May 15th. The club owns a slip on Claytor lake, goes out about two to three times a week, the University Insures the boat, and we can come up with significant compensation ($$$).
3). You can donate to our nationals trip which can help us cover travel costs.
4). You can comment on this thread with, "Go Hokies!"
Thanks!
