My boat is over 2 hours away and I need some help with the ignition / starter. My key broke off in the ignition and I need to replace it. I called the boat dealer and they asked if I need 3 wire or 4 wire ignition...I have no clue and cant look b/c boat is over 2 hours away. Can someone please help me????

I had the same thing happen in my 205, I took the key cylinder out and went with a rocker switch and monentary push button for starting. Way better in my mind, I never have to worry about losing a key again.

get one of each and return the one you don't need.

steve that might be a problem as a lot of places wont take "electrical " parts back but its worth a try... make sure you tell them what you want to do.

and asking waht some one else is may not be the best idea if the delar is asking you it means there were 2 options avalible so what some one else has even in the same year may not be the same one you have...

steve's idea is best (if you can take it back)

Thanks for response guys...I tried the return deal and he said they usually dont do that. Anyone have a ignition they can look at and let me know. If not, I guess just buy two and then throw other one away...dont want to but hell cant drive 2 hours for $20 ignition.
