So I was just down in Texas for the week cause I sold my boat to a guy on lake LBJ. WOW!!! I have nothing but positive things to say about everything I saw.

Not only is the area SUPER NICE. (Multi-million dollar homes that are 10 thousand sf or bigger, and right on the water) but the water was 77 degrees. I was in a drysuit here in Denver just a week ago and trunked it down there and was actually a little hot. Could not believe it was late October. It was sooooooo nice!!

I talked the new buyer into letting me come down in the spring and fall to rent the place out when he's not there. What an awesome area!!

Yes, its definitely does rock. A bunch of my Cali relatives are already looking at real estate here. If they could only sell their homes in Sac they'd be here already.

One great thing about it is the local wakeboarding communities. You have online communities in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Matt, be sure to hit up dallaswakeboarding.com when you get here.

The whole stretch between San Antonio and Austin is awesome. A bunch of lakes on the way, TSR, and really nice down to earth people. I've been here for 5 years and have no intentions of leaving. BTW...I'm going riding today, might consider a heater top, but probably not.

Heater top, it is still OCT. You don't need one until possibly Thanksgiving!

ahem...TX is not all you guys are cracking it up to be.

now I hear the Delta is the place to ride...

Jordan, I used to ride the Delta almost daily and it has nothing on what I saw....except all of those huge alligators of course.

Greg, yeah I sold my boat to a pretty cool guy that plays pro football so we just hung out and toured the lake. He's out with a broken foot so he felt like drinking. Guess I missed out on the other activities but don't worry.....I'll be back each spring and fall....screw houseboat trips to Shasta, that place was awesome and WAY WAY BETTER!!

I stopped to visit my grandparents on the way home so I did see the new Oklahoma cable park just north of Edmunds. Muddy, orange, Okie water and noone was riding but it looked like a fun set up right off of the highway.

^ Yea! Gators, ugly women and rednecks! It REALLY sucks here. The dirty delta is SO MUCH better.

Erling - we have the right to, if we need it!

Texas does ROCK. unfortunately thats why LBJ is now filled with a bunch of weekend warriors who can really scare the dump out of me. IMO worse than gators.
