Need some help deciding what amp to buy to power the rubicons 450s.

The 450s are spec’ed at 450w RMS / 550W Peak each. So 900w RMS for the pair. I can't find anywhere what the impedance is per 450. I can only assume 4 Ohm.

I have a Phoenix Gold Titanium 600, it's specs are as follows
4 ohms Stereo 150x2
2 ohms Stereo 300x2
4 ohms Bridged 600x1
This amp is 2 ohm bridged stable. I recall reading somewhere that at 2 ohms bridged, the power output is still 600w. This doesn't make sense to me. Anyone? If this amp would go to 1200w at 2 Ohm, then this amp would be fine.

I also have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.2
200W x 2 (4-1 ohm stereo)
400W x 1 (8-2 ohm bridged)
My thought with this amp is to buy another one and run each 450 off it's own amp. My initial concern is matching the two amps such that the sound output is equal. Thoughts?

About the only other option I've considered is the Zapco Reference 750x2. Finding a used one may prove prohibitive.

Primary use is wakeboarding, Secondary is anchored partying. Sound quality and efficiency are important to me.

So what are you guys using to power your wetsounds and NVS's?

Craig...
I think the Rubi 450's are wired in a 3 ohm config. I have mine running on a PPI 4125(500/side) and they are very loud...couldn't be happier. They sound incredible.

Craig,

I am not sure about other speakers but for Wet Sounds.

We have had really great luck powering a pair of PRO 485's with the following.

Massive Audio P800.4 (4 ch in 2 ch mode) will put out 400x2 at 4 ohms.

Arc Audio FD 4150 (4 ch in 2 ch mode) will put out 320x2

I prefer to run the towers like this because you are running a lot of power but at 4 ohms.

Craig-I running a pair of Wetsounds Pro 80's on a JL Slash 450/4 amp. Using chnls 1 & 2 rated @ 150w. I have to turn the gain way down otherwise they drown-out the rest of the system.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Anyone have input, concerns, thoughts, on using separate amplifiers of same make and model to independently power each Rubi 450?

Tim, I appreciate you character in contributing to this thread in the face of offering a directly competing product. You brought two amps to the table that I hadn’t even considered yet, I’ll look into those amps. Thank you.

you can use the same amp in a monoblock conguration...

would suggest starting off with a zapco ref 750 and see if you need another...

haven't heard of the zapco ref 750. mono or multi-channel? Oh yeah and by the way zapco amps are way underrated. My i-450 is rated at 4x 75 @ 4ohms and 4x125 @ 2 ohms but it puts out about 15% more. I love their stuff! Never heats up with 8 i force 6.5s goin all day long. and the look is cool.
