Madchild,

You should hit me up and get out on mine. I always have the lead, and will even fill the MLS and sacks if you really want to fly!

That is one of the best wake pics yet. Look at how balanced and clean that wake is. Perfect...

I don't have any pics but I have been riding with my friend who just got the o6 vlx. We don't use the wedge. I am not a big fan of it, he did get the new power wedge as an option but we run straight weight. We fooled around with the wedge the first couple of times out experimenting with different configurations and this is what we like best so far.
The factory ballast full, plus 500 on each side of the engine and another 300 in the nose plus 300 in the walkway.
The wake is very nice and pretty big. It is probably a little smaller than my super sport nautique with 2000lbs but the vlx is more rampy and wider. They are two totally differnt wakes but both are fun. We ride the vlx at 24-25mph and at 70 feet plus the handle for length. This compares to the nautique at the same speed I ride at 80 feet plus the handle.

The interior of the VLX is freaking amazing. Everything is so plush and comfortable it is insane. The drivers seat is nice with the swivel ability and heat option. The throttle by wire is a little hard to drive but he has the speed control so that makes it easy. It is wierd with no resistance in the throttle. I suppose I would get use to it.

j-rod, i haven't ridden behind one but at shasta this past june, there was a 25lsv sharing pit with us, i have never in my life seen such huge rollers from a wakeboat. the guys riding weren't even taking advantage of the huge wake, they weren't going very big at all. i would for sure like to hit a ws25lsv wake though. i couldn't imagine what it would belike with people in the boat, sacked out, and with the wedge in place...it sends chills down my spine.

there is a guy on www.themalibucrew.com that has one. i'll see if i can score some wake pics off him.

MY 23' LSV needed a lot of weight to produce an awesome wake, but still, it is one of my all time favorites. I would assume the 25' needs about 3000+ pounds to make it excellent.

all i know is, those rollers were large and in charge of my nimble reposnse lx. my buddy was in pull at the time and was like "oh......my......goooodddd...." i had to slow the boat down so i didn't jump the wakes, it was obscene.

I have a friend with a 25LSV. I've only seen the boat on the trailer, but he says our SANTE wake is ginormous next to his "roller wake".

He's an amazing rider, if that makes him any more credible. He's bummed his parents got the "big gay boat"

john, your buddy is bummed his parents opted for the 25 foot luxury wakeboarding barge? he needs to get his head checked. the 25lsv is not a "big gay boat".

i know i'd be bummed if my parents bought one of the nicest boats available

has anyone had the wedge cause gel coat cracks? My friends boat has some stress cracks coming from behind his wedge.

I was looking at a Malibu but those cracks scare me.

I've never seen gel coat cracks on anybody that uses the wedge.

Kinda of weird, do you have some pictures.

Not that anybody is doubting you it's just that you're a new MC owner, why would you be looking at Bu's.
Is this the beginning of another crazy thread?

i've got ~500h on my '02 and my buuddy has ~1000h on his '98 no cracks

I never had any probs with my Bu with a wedge, and I had it for 7 seven years, 6 with wedge. I know ALOT of people with Malibus, no wedge issues. Almost like an urban myth created by owners of other boats. I've only seen one problem, and the guy ran his rig onto a sand bar. Messed up the prop, shaft, and wedge.

No, I don't have any pictures. He has a 2003 and he has tiny spider web cracks coming from behind his wedge. Maybe he hit something once.

Glad to hear that this isn't a bid problem.

Thanks

That 247 wake is impressive but normally there wakes are just too rampy for me. What is the cost on that new bu 247?
