Hey guys, I'm looking to take a job in Boise and I'm wondering about the riding scene there. I fished on Lucky Peak as a kid but that was 15 -20 years ago. Is the Snake River ridable anywhere near Boise or do you have to drive to Twin Falls or Burley to see any part of the river that is ridable? CJ Strike? Arrowrock? Cascade? Whats the word...... Send me an email if you don't want to publicly give away a secret riding spot

Lucky Peak is the most popular. It gets crowded on a summer weekend. Arrowrock is much better but you have to put up with the road in. I ride on weekdays in the summer at Lake Lowell, Black Canyon, Arrowrock and Lucky Peak. My favorite river to ride is the Snake at Lewiston but that is 5 hrs. away. Wakeboarding and wakesurfing have become very popular, you hardly ever see a waterskier anymore.

Thanks Sue. How crowded does Lucky peak get, I mean do you need to be there at 7am and done by 10am to miss the crowds? How is Lowell for evening riding? Seems like it would be really crowded being right in Nampa. I'm coming from Spokane, which has unbelievable riding conditions so I'm spoiled.

Lucky Peak can get crazy on a hot summer day. It's not big enough to handle all the boat traffic. I would go at 7 am if you go on a weekend. Lowell is a good place for an evening ride. You can usually find good water to ride. I ride up near Spokane every summer. We go to Priest River, Lake Pend Orielle and Hayden Lake.
