I have to say that I also broke the string this weekend! We were about 25 minutes away from the house and the string decided to give up the ghost! I got lucky though and where your motor is riveted to the bracket, mine has small bolts and lock nuts. We backed out a screw and tightened the string under the screw so that the throttle would work again. We then shut off perfect pass and ran in "manual mode" for the rest of the day. I ordered my new cable from Perfect Pass this morning. It was $60 and they said that they would over night it so I should have it no later than Wednesday ($35 for cable $25 for shipping). It includes the cable, string and a new knob so it should be easy to put back. I never realised how wonderful perfect pass was until it broke. Well, I cannot complain too much the string lasted for 9 years!!!
