How do these two boards measure up? I've been riding a DoubleUP Pure Ride for the past 4 or 5 years and I like how loose it is and how well it spins.

I had a Substance last year when I lived in Australia so I know how it rides and I know I like it but how does it compare to the Valhalla? How does the Valhalla handle without the center fin and the goofy side fins?

thanks.

The Valhalla rides great without the center and side fins. It tracks well but still is loose and breaks free without much effort. It has a very snowboard type feel.

I haven't ridden the Substance so I can't comment.

I switched from a 2005 Substance 142 to a Valhalla 138.

The landings are softer on the Valhalla. This was the main point why I switched.

Ride wise, very similar both boards, but the valhalla can break loose easier than the Substance, even with the center fin (well its kinda dinky being only 0.5").

As for the crook fins, hardly feel that they are there, but I found they help more than hinder so I leave'em on most of the time.
