This is the quote I got from the closest dealer to me, let me know how high this is and if anyone know somewhere that has an X1 in stock and will deal. I thought the MSRP for the boat and single axle trailer were 43K so I was hoping to find one with at least the options below for 44K-45K.

Mastercraft X1 MSRP- $48,500
Single axle trailer- $4,000
Freight and Prep- $2,325
Base Board Racks- $540
KGB Ballast System- $950
Bimini Top- $800
Deluxe Storage Cover- $950
Bow & Stern Pop up cleats- $480
Aluminum Spare and Wheel- $340

Total Price- $58,385
Discount- $9,270
Total out the door price before tax- $49,115 (This was the salemans first price he gave me and said he would not negotiate at all)

maybe with mcx 350, spinner racks, tandom axle trailer, master view seat, heater, pp, stereo with tower speakers, depth finder and i make him through in stainless rub rail and cup holders id take that deal. oh and a fiber glass swim platform. but for a nearly striped x1, way to high priced imo. you should be looking at that boat under 50k price otd with taxe etc... especially if its off the lot.

that's mid summer pricing for you. At this point I'd just wait until the fall/winter and really save yourself some money. You'll kick yourself if you don't.
Old     (derby)      Join Date: Nov 2005       07-26-2007, 8:57 PM Reply
Tell him to eat the freight and give him 47500 otd.

Oh wait this is before taxes? I had an offer similar to this boat for 46k before tax prep and freight. Mine had the MCX and no front ballast. Same as the rest. YOu got a ways to go.

The longer you haggle the more it gets towards the end of summer and the more he wants to get rid of the boat.

Dont budge. You'll hear the "final offer" more then once...unless some one else buys it.

I also thought the MSRP was 43k. But the cut sheets I saw here in Cal were 48 like this one. Go figure.

Wow when did MSRP jump from 39 to 48?
And isn't the single axle trailer included?
Old     (sidekicknicholas)      Join Date: Mar 2007       07-26-2007, 9:24 PM Reply
The dealer near us just sold an X-1, all the same options except no bimini and the boat has 30 hours, from demo's and what-not, but perfect shape for 38k.... just from the hours....find a demo boat
Old     (lukewtwt)      Join Date: Apr 2003       07-27-2007, 6:39 AM Reply
Mastercraft X1 MSRP- $48,500.....try again
Single axle trailer- $4,000....also included in MSRP of 43K
Freight and Prep- $2,325....don't need to pay the dealer's freight, it should be a cost of doing business, and there is maybe 2hrs prep involved, so $150-$200 max
Base Board Racks- $540...included in MSRP
KGB Ballast System- $950
Bimini Top- $800
Deluxe Storage Cover- $950...damn that's high
Bow & Stern Pop up cleats- $480
Aluminum Spare and Wheel- $340

everything is negotiable

Yeah, that seems really extreme on the cover. You can get a very, very nice Rankin cover which you can trailer with for cheaper than that.

RTH, I bought a 2007 X-1 this last winter and it had all of the options you listed except the KGB ballast and spare tire. I also added the tandem axel trailer, stainless steel rub rail, stainless cupholders, heater, stereo and swivel racks for significantly less than you were quoted.

I dealt with the MC dealer in Portland.
Old     (ronnyboy27)      Join Date: Nov 2005       07-27-2007, 7:50 AM Reply
You might want to call some other dealers. That MSRP is wrong MC's website was advertising 39,900. Or better yet take in a wakeboarding mag with the ad for 39,900
Old     (05mobiuslsv)      Join Date: Apr 2006       07-27-2007, 7:55 AM Reply
He's charging you $340 for a spare tire. You need to keep walking and don't look back.

I will definately shop around other dealers for a better deal on an X1 if I don't buy the Centurion that I am demoing today. I know the price I was quoted is high on the X1 but I just wanted to see what others are paying so I can make them a reasonable offer.
Old     (bob_l)      Join Date: Jul 2006       07-27-2007, 8:03 AM Reply
They would be a decent price IF they added swivel racks (both sides), mirror, 1 pair of tower speakers and amp, stainless rub rail. I assume it has master cruise in it and not perfect pass.
Old     (lionel)      Join Date: Nov 2005       07-27-2007, 8:30 AM Reply
Sorry RTH, you can't shop around for a new MC. If you are in that dealers territory, MC won't let other dealers sell you a new boat. Used boats are a different story.....

Dealer seems pretty high on his price, tho.....

RTH, call mastercraft, explain the situation...gettign raped by that dealer. Have them match the price of the next closest dealer.

And Brayn, there are plenty of dealers who sell new boats out of terrirtory. Very few ever get caught.

X1's are 42900 + shipping. That is a advertised discounted price from MC, MSRP is in the low 50's. 42900+ shipping gets you 2 rear ballast, X1 trailer, tower, Rtp 310hp, MC cruise and standard board racks. Everything else spinners, pop up cleats, biminis, covers, spare tire etc. are extra.
I would'nt wait for 08's and pay 3k more for the same boat just like 06's 39900 to 07's 42900.

You aren't getting into a new Supra for anywhere near 35k.

Everything is negotiable never take the first offer if the price isn't coming down start getting the free stuff.
Old     (behindtheboat)      Join Date: Aug 2006       07-27-2007, 10:02 AM Reply
yea 10K off after raping on all the other stuff. The X1 being a budget boat has become a joke and a half...
Old     (midwesttex)      Join Date: Jul 2004       07-27-2007, 10:04 AM Reply
I would think that if you can get that set up for 45k then it would be a great deal. I just picked up a x1 and love it. It is mid summer, but I am sure he is ready to start taking the 08 models and will want to get rid of the 07 soon.

Are you trolling for an argument there......

If you are going to spend 45k, buy a 1-2 year old boat IMO. You can get a top of the line boat in that price range. '05 210 SANTE easy, '06 21v, '05 (and maybe an '06) VLX, lots of options in that price range with a transferable warranty.

Just my opinion, but i buy the same way with cars, let someone else take the major depreciation hit :-)

get a dual axel trailer
Old     (codykauz)      Join Date: Jul 2007       07-27-2007, 3:00 PM Reply
and don't buy an x-1 because you have to have an mc and its the only one you can afford. other companies make amazing boats as well. and that centurion you are demoing is exactly my point. these two boats are opposite ends of the spectrum in hull design and wake shape. i'm sure you noticed that mc has a long mellow rampy wake and centurions have a steep peaky wake. be sure you're looking at boats for boats not just a name.

whats the resale on mc compared to a centurion?...

$1.59

Really Sam, how many dealers are in Idaho?

I was looking at a new 2006 X1 that was a base model for as you described for $40K. I ended up with the Supra 20 SSV fully loaded with just a few hours on it for less money. I was offered a 2007 Supra 20 SSV loaded up for approx. $45K. MC is a great boat..... but there are lots of things I like better about the Supra. Just my opinion.

and don't buy an x-1 because you have to have an mc and its the only one you can afford.

I wanted to stop you right there Cody and say, "buy it because it is arguably the best hull ever put under a wake boat."

I cannot believe that the X-Star/X-2/X-1/X-Wife has become a "don't buy it just because it is the most affordable MC V Drive...." There can be an argument made that the X-1 is still the best wake MC puts out....

Note, I am not saying that you shouldn't look at every other boats that fit your needs and is within price range.... Just wanted to stick up for an old friend.....

P.S. No, I do not own an X-Star/X-2/X-1/X-Wife or a MC for that matter. I do own the best hull ever put under a wakeboat.....but sorry, they don't make it anymore.....

Most people will agree that this boat has thee best wake of any boat. I have one. The down side is it is a little small and most people like to sack them out to make the wake bigger. The price is too high so just negotiate a better price.
