It's not much, nothing upside down or anything but I've been trying w2w BS 180's w/handle pass for prolly half the summer now and finally rode away from 2 today. It sure feels good after trying something for so long. I'd like to be adding a grab to em soon. As a little bonus, I threw my first w2w Method also.

'like watson'???

Does he take them far into the flats??? I have never really seen him take bs 180s far into the flats.

Lyman and Harris....now they take them into the flats.

Landed my first HS 5. Seems easier than the BS 180! Those are tough.

Nice driving Evan! Good to know you can jump behind the wheel of a new boat and deliver a perfect pull. Thanks man. Glad you made it out.

Much harder than any basic invert. Congrats. I still don't have them as consistent as I want and it's been years since I land my first one! Ironically, my TS BS 180's are more consistent than heelside!

Like Blabelmooch said, BS 180's are way harder than any basic invert. I learned a tantrum, backroll and 360 this summer, and I still really struggle with the BS 180. Congrats, Sparky! Keep it up!

backside 1's are harder than most 5's i would say, i love how stylish they look to, there is no such thing as an ugly backside 180, they all look pimp

o bout that. lyman and harris do take them farther. i was thinking ben greenwood i like how he does them i was just watching relentless and got mixed up cuz they're parts are right after each other.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. Landing a couple and "having" them is sure two different things though. I am hoping the boost in confidence will lead to more consistency with this move. Blabel, you got me thinking about TS BS 180's now. I am also thinking about TS FS 3's as I have been told the crashes aren't as hard as HS FS 3's. We'll see. I'm happy...for now.

Good Work! Am I right in thinking its easier to land with a handle pass? I started serious attempts on BS 180's on Sunday, I hope it doesn't take me 6 months to land one. I was getting the handle really solid but landing on my heels and slipping out, any tips? My goal is to have a stalefish to blind which should look nice.

cdm, we board over on the halfmoon chain of lakes in pinckney. thats not too far, what about an hour or so?

darren, do you mean handle pass as opposed to landing wrapped? because that would probably easier if you can get the handle.

I'm not sure about what way is easier, but I didn't like the idea of possibly catching an edge with my arm behind me. I would like to have it wrapped because you can hold the grab so much longer and to me that just looks so sweet. I want the rotation and landing real solid first though. For me if I slide out on my heels it's usually because I've over-rotated it. The hard part for me is waiting for the slack in the line before starting the rotation.

Congrats Sparky! I was trying a backside 180 all summer until Aug. 29 when I broke my Tibia & Fibula trying one. I actually feel more comfortable with a HS BS 360 than a HS BS 180. I over rotated a few times and was just more at ease spotting my landing. I also think landing a HS 5 is easier than a HS BS 180. Landing blind sucks! It looks great but it can really mess you up if you don't have good board position. I'm sure I'll get it down next summer after I am all healed up. The crappy part is the wife thinks it looks just like the same spin as my HS 3. Some people just don't get it.
