JL Audio tower speakers

Can 2 jl tower speakers on a Mastercraft be heard while riding. I know you wont be able to hear it perfectly like pro audio stuff but is it enough to hear the beat and sing along to if you know it? Also on the JL web site they have different speakers for cockpit and for tower, anyone know what the difference is?

i forget what exactly the difference is but it has to do with the cone i think. it helps the sound travel farther.

I've heard that that putting in a horn can "send" the sound better. I think Liquid Audio uses horns in their systems. (does someone know?)

I'm concerned about what I bought too. (2 - sony 6x9). What will I hear? Will it be ok? Does it have to be marine grade?

manny the other difference was that the JL tower speakers are designed to be in small air spaces like the Mastercraft tower pods where the JL cockpit speakers are designed to be in free air mounting locations

Based on my personal experience, if you really want to hear the music clearly while riding I would suggest you step up to something like Wetsounds/NVS or possibly the Rubicon's if they are what they claim (unlike the Deafcons). Try to get a ride behind a boat before making a speaker purchase. The reinforcement you get in a closed room will not be experienced out on the open water.
