Draining Lake Perris

I read in the LA Times that the "state" will be draining 42% of Lake Perris starting in mid August. Why now? Couldn't it wait until the off season? First they increase the annual fee by 100%, now they drain the half the lake! I think I should be entitled to a refund on my annual pass.

relax, at least you still have some water. my lake was drained all year because of the state. they noticed a problem a while back when they could have easily fixed it but no, lets wait until it gets so bad that we have drain it for a WHOLE YEAR SO WE CAN FIX IT

SoCali finally gets all the rain it can handle, fills all the lakes to capacity and now they decide to lower it to fix the dam.

To bad they didnt move on that a year or so ago. They might go another 7 years before they could refill it.

I second the motion .... sucks anyways!! I'll take my chances and drive to Havasu, then pray for smooth waters.....
