Has anyone ever put a DVD head unit on their boat? Something like an Alpine IVA-W200 or similar double-din?

Wondering about the vibration and other potential drawbacks.

Pics?

Thanks

you can get just as good or better sound quality out of a single din cd player, and i doubt you are oging to be watching dvd's on the water. so unless you are using it, why bother?

Because I have a 2din opening and like the large display. Probably wouldn't use it much for viewing dvd's.

Just wondering if anyone has done it.

glare and direct sunlight would suck. If it's dusk or night, that'd be cool.

some of those in dash video units have av inputs so its possible to watch video you are recording of your riders. I thought about putting it in my boat. I live in florida and getting caught in a downpour is a very likely event. Dual makes a 500 dollar unit which I belive is single din. I say give it a shot.

Are you sure you have a double din head unit? The CMD4, etc from Clarion are really single din that look like double din.

Good point evil0ne, I didn't even think of that.
