Boat speed and rope length is all personal preference.

As far as your rope goes...once you add the handle it is 70'

Why would we ride an X-2 with no weight? Slam it!

75ft @ 22mph. Weighted.

I ride 75 @ 23mph. Lightly weighted (500lbs + ballast + 4 or 5 people)

I ride behind my X-2 at 20mph @ 75'. We fill the ballast tanks (about 1000lbs) and usually have 4-6 people in the boat with at least 2 up front.

Killer wake.

Randy, that seems really slow for 75 feet of rope. we have a few people that ride 65 and 70 feet of rope and they usually slow the boat speed down to 21 or 22mph.

Keep in mind boat speedos aren't real accurate from one boat to another. Behind my parents 01 x-star I ride at 23.5 and behind my friends 01 x-star I ride at 22.5, and the speed feels exactly the same.

i agree with rootc. speedos are definitely differnt. i ride at 24.6 on mine and i am just an ok rider. i would imagine my speedo is a little off. i ride at 75 ft.

why not adjust the speedo or perfect pass? they both are very easy to adjust. borrow or buy a garmin gps and use it. or just get someone else that has calibrated their boat to ride alongside.

ride the x2 between 21-24 at 70'+ w/ factory ballast plus 4-6 people. i would also recommend putting an extra ballast bag in the walkway to the bow. that really firms up the wake making it not only huge, but super hard for that hella pop!!

I ride stock ballast and 300 up front. 70 feet at 24 mph, to slow the wake gets to wide in the back
