Tommys in Denver

Thinking of buying a new BU from Tommys in Denver. Has anyone purchased from them or used them for dealer service? They seem like great people, but I was wondering if anyone had any input or experience.

That depends on who you ask. Some people love Tommy's; others would rather row a boat than buy a Malibu from Tool...er, Tommy.

I've never purchased a boat boat or anything from Tommy's. I've never been to his shop or dealt with his employees. However, I have known Tommy for a long time since he was the very first shop to take a chance on advertising with WakeWorld and he's been with us longer than any other advertiser. He's a real good guy and I know I wouldn't hesitate to buy a boat from him.

Two time offender. Bought a 01 Moomba Kamberra in '01 and a BU247 in '06. I have met Tommy and know the guys in his service dept. I think they do a very honest job with their shop work. I drive up from Castle Rock for service. (Not that there is another dealer closer, but....) The sales guys that I bought from are no longer there, so I can't vouch for the sales crew, but the service guys are great. I wish they had more room for boat storage, it is hard to make two trip across Denver when I take the BU in for service. They discourage leaving boats overnight. I imagine, some day, I'll buy from them again.

Tommy's is an amazing dealership! They truly are great people. To say that Tommy is a tool is pure ignorance because if you really got to know him you would know that he is dedicated to his customers. I would not hesitate either. They will take good care of you abe!

My opinion is just that - my opinion. You obviously chose to ignore my up front concession that "some people love Tommy's." I'm sure it's safe to assume that you're one of them.

Well....nobodys perfect, but I'd take Tommy any day over some of the other dealers here (Denver). I won't mention any names, but.... At least Tommy treats me like a friend, and has from before I ever purchased from him. To call him a "tool" seems a little harsh.

Malibus are great boats; you certainly can't go wrong with the choice if you decide to go that way.

I have purchased 2 boats from tommys. Both were great experiences. The sales staff is all new as of a few months ago. Seemed to happen a month or two after their expansion was complete. Their service Dept is outstanding. Dave in service has won many awards from Mastercraft back when they sold them. Like many other boat shops, if you buy from them you MUST get into the service dept and get to know the guys there. I did and it payed off big time. I once needed a strut and prop and just towed it in and Dave fixed it for me on the spot. He was busy with other things, but took the time to get me back on the water asap. The proshop is also manned by great people. I don't think you can go wrong. If you get a bad feeling from them, then move on.. Make your own judgement

i think that they run a great shop! dont know about the service department though. reality is your not buying from Tommy himself but from his staff. get to know them as Andy said most are good people. if you feel you can trust them then go with them if not then dont!

Tommy had a board shop in South Florida for a while. His service was outstanding and he used to support and organize local fun tournaments. He was always pleasant to be around and he was a positive influence on the younger riders. Tommy didn't sell boat here but I would guess his service dept would exhibit the same traits.

His friendly outgoing demeanor and "sales" approach must rub some people wrong. I think the sport, and dealerships, need more people like Tommy.

I guess he closed up South Florida and went back to Denver.

Tommy has always treated people awesome the sales staff is awesome they know things most dealers don't! The history behind Tommy's goes on for years. My parents bought skis from him a long time ago when Tommy first opened down by Sloans! The reason we even have watersports here is because Tommy brought the sports here!! Abe you have nothing to worry about! There's a reason why Tommy is the best and Carries the best! I myself own a 247! Best purchase I made! Ride or Die!

Great dealership. I bought a new 04 VLX there and was treated very well before, during, and after the sale. Dave in service is outstanding. They took great care of me. I haven't talked to them lately, though, but it sounds like new sales people. Does that mean Jay is gone? If so, anybody know where he ended up?
