So my friend turned off the perfect pass on the gauage while driving. As soon as he did that the whole boat stoped and I had no throttle. The boat didn't shut off but I couldn't get the throttle to respond. I pulled the hatch and the cable was loose where it goes into the black knob. I tried turning the perfect pass on but it wouldn't turn back on again. Never had a problem before with it so I'm lost to what it could be????

depends on the version of PP you have

My old PP did not auto retract the cable. Once an outing I would have to turn the boat off and turn the knob tight manually. You should not be able to turn the knob when the key is on.

On my current PP I can tighten the cable by cycling the key on/off a few times.

Sounds like you may have blown the fuse to the PP if there is no?

Call perfect pass, they have great customer support.

Are there any rules to when you can and cannot turn on/off the PP?

If you turn it off at more than a few miles per hour and in gear you'll have to wind in the servo which on mine is just hitting the up arrow. I've been told not to turn it on when you are going i.e. you forgot to set it and you had a boarder for the reason you stated.

Only supposed to turn it on or off when throttle is in neutral. Mine will ask if "Boat in neutral?" if the throttle is not in neutral. Must look at rpms or paddlewheel and decide that the boat is not in neutral. If the boat is in neutral than PP just shuts off.

Whoops, I turn mine on and off all the time when moving. I find it darn tough to pull up surfers with the PP engaged, cause it messes with the throttle so much. I usually pull up the surfer and turn on the PP at 9 or 10 MPH.

I turn it off all the time when cruising..it just beeps real loud and says "servo winding in"

Good thread

I talked to PP today they said they think its a fuse since the PP won't turn on at the guage. I figured once I retart the motor it would turn back on but nothing.
