Has anyone who had never landed (or tried) a tantrum (or a ts backroll), practiced backflips on a trampoline and then gone out a stomped either one of these tricks? Did the trampoline practice lead to your success? I finally got a trampoline and have been practicing and feel relatively comfortable upside down. Because of this, I'm thinking of trying something new, but I need some confidence.

What are you afraid of? I'm not really that good and I haven't landed my tantrum yet but every time I try it the adrenaline rush over powers the pain. So I say go for it.

I'm not too sure about the trampoline training, because I don't have one, but I've heard that it does help quite a bit.

David, the tramp has helped me a ton. I would argue it helped alot more for my 3's because my ingrained muscle memory from the handle passes just took over when I was behind the boat. Do you have a handle/rope that you use while on the tramp. If so, just hold on with one hand, like you would when taking off for a tantrum, and see how that goes. If its cake for you, take it to the wake and like most people say, WAIT to start the trick, and just when you think you waited long enough, WAIT a little more. Let us know how it works!

David.. the trampoline is a huge help, for all trick. Engraves muscle memory, helps with handle and body positions, plus builds up riding stamina too. Inverts are a little different on the tramp as compared to on the water due to the pull of the boat, but it gets you use to being upside down and such.
You can practice frontside and backside 180's
landing blind, front/backside 360's, raley's, and the list goes on and on.
If you watch the "BOOK" it references the trmapoline alot.
Good luck and have fun.

Yeah I love training on tramp... before trying a trick on the water, I make sure I can do it on the tramp.

I filmed it all in a row in about 5min so some tricks are ugly !

Dude, you are sick on that thing...when I saw you diving off I was like...holy crap, he's gonna bust a nut...then you pulled a front and landed. Sweet moves, did you get professional training or are you just naturally air aware?

I'm going to say that he's a gymnast or was one. Not many regular joe's will start throwing handsprings with flips across their backyard!

Thanks for the input everyone. I took some trampoline lessons a few months back and know some good fundamentals with regard to jumping and body position. I have "The Book" and will probably try some of the slip variations on the tramp once I'm comfortable.

I can definitely see how it is going to help on 3's and other spins.

David:

I just started landing tantrums. No previous trampoline exposure, but I do have some advice...just try some. I was pissed once I landed one, because I was so close all along, it just took a bit of tweaking. I think the thing that I really regret is all the time I wasted thinking about trying it, and not just getting better.

Now I just have to dial it in, which hopefully wont take too long!

For your informations, I never took trampoline lessons. I learned it all by myself with friends. Most of you guys could learn to do everything in the video in less than a summer!

The name of the song is Make The Money.
