Has anyone replaced a parks overlay? If so, how did you deal with the pull lace?

You'll need to remove the lace. There is a black plastic thing on the end of the laces that is holding the two ends together (NOT THE CINCH!). It's a pretty small part, maybe a 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch, about. The top of it, the rounded part, slides out of the other completely. When that is off, undo the laces and remove them from the overlay. Put the new one on, using the same hardware and holes, then lace it up. After that, put the laces through the plastic part, almost a tube, then put the ends of the laces into the wedge piece, that was holding the laces before. Slide the two together, press them together firmly, and you should be all set. If you have any problems, please let me know, I would be glad to help. I've had to do this several times myself on 03's, not sure if they are different on other models, I don't think they are though.

I'd guess most people who have owned Parks', have replaced overlays or had them replaced.
I know I did as well as three of my friends.
