Isacc, what amp are you using? are you pushing 250 RMS to each?? Can they handle that?

I think most 6x9,s are around 80 watts nominal handling power ?

Overall Frequency Response 35Hz-22KHz
Nominal Impedance 4 ohms
Power Handling (continuous) 100 w
Power Handling (peak) 300 w
Efficiency 93 dB
for those speakers...

The 6x9s are Polk DB690's » peak power handling: 300 watts

RMS is 100

I run all 4 off 1 channel wired in parallel, and the other channel powers my sub.

AMP is a Sony 1000 WATT 2 channel amp

you run 4-4ohm speakers off one channel (parallel)? How do you keep the amp from melting?

Adam, isn't 1 Ohm resonably common? Yes, not all amps are stable at that resistance, but some are?? Just asking? I am trying to learn.

not too many amps are stable down to 1 ohm, but yoru correct some are, and usually pretty expensive. I've never heard of a sony amp stable down to 1 ohm. In addition when dropping down to 1 ohm your amperage draw will increase exponentially. IMO, for a typical/normal "boat" system you should try and keep nominal impedance in between 2-4ohms.

Isaac, is that Tahoe? I was just there a few weeks back, and the view in your photo looks a lot like what i saw when we cruised into Emerald Bay.

Beautiful.

I was up there with the family, met a couple of locals, and was able to get in a few early morning runs.

It's freezing, but so nice in the blue water. Quite a difference from our usual delta trips...
