Ambush Boarding Co./Buywake.com Polar Bear Wakeboard Contest

February 14, 2006
For Immediate Release:

Kennesaw, GA U.S.A. – Ambush Boarding Co. and Buywake.com, the World’s most complete and progressive wakeboard retailers, in conjunction with Kennesaw State University and Watersports Central, announce the Ambush Boarding Co./Buywake.com Polar Bear Wakeboard Contest.

The Ambush Boarding Co./Buywake.com Polar Bear Wakeboard Contest will be metro Atlanta’s first ever cold water wakeboard tournament. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th at Lake Arrowhead in the north Georgia mountains and will pulled by the 2006 Ambush Mastercraft X-Star, the best wakeboarding boat on the planet.

“We have always tried to push wakeboarding in new and innovative ways”, remarks Ambush Boarding Co. General Manager, Lee Elliott.
“Last year we put on the Ambush/Buywake.com Anti-Invert Challenge to test riders’ creativity. This year we want to test their abilities when the water is cold.”

“We take wakeboarding for granted when it is nice and warm”, adds Ambush Boarding Co. and Buywake.com owner, Chuck Morrow.
“When it’s cold, the falls hurt a little more and your body is less limber. It adds a degree of difficulty”.

Kennesaw State University, metro Atlanta’s fastest growing university, will be lending their assistance to this event as well. KSU professor, Dr. Deborah Lester’s promotional strategy class will be developing and coordinating the event, activities, sponsorships, and advertising.

“The target market for this type of promotion presents a unique set of demands and challenges that the students are diligently incorporating into the promotional strategy. The students enrolled in the class are very excited about the opportunity to develop a promotion, implement the strategy, and then follow it through with an analysis and evaluation. The students have complete ownership and responsibility of the success, or failure, of the event.”

The Ambush/Buywake.com Polar Bear Wakeboard Contest is open to all abilities and age levels with Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Outlaw, Open and Wakeskate divisions represented. The event is limited to 50 wakeboarders and 8 wakeskaters and will start promptly 10:00am. Registrations will be taken on a first come; first served basis.

Ambush Boarding Co. and Buywake.com are privately held businesses dedicated to the soul of wakeboarding.
