I put an ad on our local radio swap shop program offering 100 bucks reward if anyone could point me towards my swimdeck that I lost several weeks ago. Bingo someone called. Judging by where it was found, it floated about half a mile and was in the water approximately 3 weeks.

SO STOKED!!!

Glad you found it, but, I gotta ask, how do you loose a swim platform???

Wow. I remember this post. Congrats man. $100 is much cheaper than what it would cost for a new platform.

Be lucky someone didn't hit it and blame you.

Ryan, you are right. I knew I was exposing myself for potential damage liability but I decided to give it a try. Mike and SJ, I forgot to put my pins in the platform one day. I hit my own rollers while pulling a rider in a narrow pulling area and it must have shot down beneath the surface of the water. My rider later fell and was like, "Dude, where is your step". I was pretty tore up over it. WE searched forever and never found it. I concluded that it sank until I read on the supra forum that they are built to float.

I am thinking that when it came off, it shot down a few feet beneath the surface. I think it then maintained its boyancy instead of surfacing. The lake was flooded and dropping 1.5 ft per day so I was hopeful that it would wash up in a bay and sure enough, it actually was deposited on one of the flooded campsites.

That is unreal, but glad you found it as they are not cheap.

I think most of us have done something like this in our lives, boating related or not.

I felt bad when I read your post about it falling off your boat. Congrats on getting it back as such a good price compared to buying a new one. Better remember to put the pins in for now on.

Good karma, you must be a cool/good guy! I remember the story and seeing the post in the classified section "need platform" I'm sure you'll be more than happy to remove that post!

We try to live right but I never expected to see the swim deck again. That probably sucked up the remaining balance of good karma for me. I am just stoked I don't have to buy another/wonder if the old sank or float, and that I can now quit using the wakeplate as a step...

4 weeks is amazing to have it show back up...

Great news Ryan, and don't worry about the karma thing, boating season is just starting....you'll have plenty of opportunities to help out other boaters this summer, whether it's teaching them how to load/unload their boat, teaching someone new to board, or towing a dude whose boat broke down in the middle of the lake...the 'karma bank' will be full in no time. :-)

This happened to my dad last summer. The teak fell off the mounting brackets while driving. It was a good thing someone was riding because he would have never noticed it. He was able to stop and put it back in the boat.

WOW! I remember reading your thread about having lost it. Glad to hear you found it. And that someone was nice enough to turn it in. Was it a boarder, fisherman?

Congratulations!
