Could the pros do the tricks they are doing without the bindings we have today.

Do bindings help the perfomance of the board.

ya dumb question. You could have the best board in the world but if you have crappy bindings the board is worthless.

not reeally a dumb question.

i have videos of shapiro and a few others who were doing mobes, raleys, and other tricks behind a vdrive maristar with no pole, tower,or weight riding a directional(skurfer) board with sandal bindings ..stand up passes and they didnt seem to be holding back..

i believe the question is do new bindings and technology make it easier, more comfortable, and less injury occurences while doing the big tricks on huge wakes of today, the answer is yes

wakitup has it correct i would ride an older board with newer bindings if i had to make a choice.. i can adapt to a weird board but bindings will feel the same from day one and if they asre loose and uncomfortable it will hurt your confidence..
