loss of power

Went out this evening and my boat wasn't running well? It ran fine/normal at the start of the week. Today it was cutting out when I gave it throttle and it felt like I had a ton of weight in the boat when I was running at around 25 mph. I just idled back to the ramp and took her out.

So....what would you guess it is?

1990 Sport Nautique 351 PCM 700 hrs.

water in fuel?
carb went bad?
???

weird is that it was running great and then a couple days later it changed drastically.

Any advice? Thanks!

check to see if the choke is stuck closed.

my guess would be fuel filters..happened to us before

I'll check the choke thing out...

I actually just changed the fuel filter about 10 hours ago....so that's probably not it?

Do you have a water fuel separator? I had the same thing happen and poured the contents of my separator in a glass jar and was amazed at how much water was in there... must have been 9/10ths water... filled her back up with gas and i was running as good as new.

Try the filter on the end of the fuel pick up pipe in the gas tank.
