Looking to get more power from my 07 suburban with a 6.0 liter. Was thinking about an off the shelf tuner like hypertech, superchips, etc. No need for a custom tune. Anybody have a preference with one that you have used?

Why no custom tune?? Its proven to get better power /mpg than a handheld..

I'll say that I had a Superchips in my lifted 06 Silverado in order to correct my speedometer. I put the tune on it as well and it didn't do much for me.

Check out http://www.gmfullsize.com for some good advice and humor. The name that comes to mind is Nelson Performance or something. That would be money MUCH more well spent.

Hypertech is a waste of money.

I agree with Drew regarding the custom tune. I had the Westers custom tune installed on my 6.0 and it made a noticeable difference. The transmission shift points are also much better. Combined with a cold air intake it tows very well for a gasser. They were even able to tune it for the weight we are towing and to tow at altitude. Money well spent.

I've had custom tunes in the past, and was very satisfied with www.pcmforless.com. The only drawback is that it's a PITA to make any changes. I have been doing a little research of late, and considering getting a Diablo Predator. Seems to be the best of the handhelds.

Also Nelson's Tuning. Have the torque management mostly removed.
