Just thought I would share some pic's of my New OTT bimini. from www.towerbiminis.com I use to have the traditional under the tower bimini. It worked great but the OTT bimini had a few more advantages over the orignal bimini. I used it all week and it worked great.
Some of the advantages.

1.head room
2.sound from tower is un changed
3.bimini folds away in front of tower dosent block speakers
4.easyer to get to wakeboard racks

Some of the disavantages.

1.a few min longer to set up/take down
2.sun coverage is a few inches smaller

Jake, for sure.

G: how much longer does it take to set up/down? I like my headroom too. Cool bimini.

Grant,
nice, I'm waiting to receive mine. Is it a pain to put a line on the tower? Probably need to get up on the engine cover?

thanks,
Jack

man, I've been thinking of doing one of thoes for my old zero flight tower. My bimini sucks for all the reasons you mentioned.

My only problem now is that i have an air tracker, and I dont think it will work the the bimini that high. Of course, I could only use one at a time.

Mind if I ask how much they charged? and did you have to drill into the tower?

Do you have trouble with the rope hitting it?

It looks like you would.

We made our own bimini from scratch just for those reasons.. we kept ours under though to keep the shaded area larger, but made it higher and longer than most.. We wanted to make sure that everyone that sat in the back part of the boat would get shade, vs just the driver and passenger sitting next to them. 7.5 feet long, and we made it 6 feet high to fit just under the tower speakers. That way the average person can still walk straight up under it.

Jon: No the ropes not a problem. You can adjust the angle that the rear of the bimin sits at. So if you tower is real high in the back and your rope looks like its gonna hit you can adjust or angle down the back of the bimini so that its lower than the back section of the tower. Yes attaching the rope is bettter done from standing on the engin cover. Its the way we always do it

looks awesome!! I'd go for an OTT bimini except for the fact that we seem to get caught out in the rain fairly often....and my bimini does an awesome job of providing cover for that....
