Took an edge catch on a raley over the weekend, luckily as bad as it could go I came out fine, but I had pulled out one of the inserts on my S4 and my warranty just expired in February
So i'm in the market for a new board I love the S4 shape, but open to try out some new ones. Any shapes out there I gotta try?
I looked over evo, buywake, wakeside, and some others looking for a good deal on an outlet board, but nothing jumped out at me. What are some of your go to places when looking for a board? I know a lot of you recommend the local proshop and normally I'm all on board for that but down here in Houston we only have m2 and I personally think they are over priced with low selection

I would chose a local shop. The next time you tear an insert, it will be a lot easier to walk in to a shop to handle your warranty. Support your local shop if you want it to be there in the future. It's not worth saving $30.00.

Their selection is really limited but sierratradingpost.com has really good deals. You see the sale price when you bring the boards up and then when you click on one the next page will give you an extra discount code usually between 20 and 30 %.

Peter.....I think your best bet is Larson or NorCal MC in Rancho Cordova. And Wake Island has a pro shop now also.
I know NorCal has older models they discount. And they are pretty involved in the grassroots scene

+1 for evo.com. Good prices and great customer service. I would love to support local but don't have a shop close by.

+1 for Wakeroots proshop at NorCal Mastercraft in Rancho. It's a real boardshop. They always have sweet deals on clearance stuff and all of the new stuff as well. They also carry Rockwell Watches, VZ, Spy, Oakley, and a lot of other cool stuff. They are one of those shops that will usually have you walking out with a new board on a warranty issue.

^ my brother ordered a Bill from there and we received and empty box with 2 ronix plastic bags in it....
But a shop is important. I drive 2 hours for a good shop. I ride with them a lot, I'm going to surf expo with them etc. they help me out on prices and warranty is cake. I've made some good friends thru that shop beyond the support I get from on the product side of things. Loyalty goes a long way. My entire crew rides and buys from there. They all know us by name, it's like the familia. If you don't buy from a shop you're missing out. If you however absolutely have none or yours is bad I vote for Evo gear.

I'm a bit biased, but wakeboards.com is an awesome online retailer, and have great in-shop staff! Call up for any questions and recommendations! Plus they've got a pretty handsome pro shop staff

Since you're in Houston, M2 is a good shop and supports the local scene......
EVO people, really? Most local shops will meet or beat their prices, get out and support before they're all gone. And if you don't have one near you, support the nearest, or an actual shop like Performance.
