What's everyone going to be riding in 2013? Please post pics if you can!
Once again I bought the previous year's models to save money. I'm going with the Wake World Riders Choice award winners for both the board and bindings categories. And they look great together. I'm still undecided about the closed toe thing, but I'm going to give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, then I'll be finding a pair of 2012 Ronix Kais.

I bought a demo board that had a few scratches and a good sized gouge that ran down and over the edge. So I repaired the gouge, scuffed the board, taped around the face and then sprayed it with Plasti dip.
It held up perfectly last year and is easy to repair or remove if you ever want to.
After 2 coats:
The Plasti Dip Smoke would be pretty cool over an existing design.

The point of plastic dip is that you don't have to do the prep work. So all you have to do is clean it real good then spray it down. There is no need to sand it, its not paint.

That's not really the point of it but it is a nice benefit. I spent all of 3min scuffing the board with a scotch brite pad. It had a few deep scratches that I wanted to clean up and minimize.
I've not tested it but I'm also pretty sure that much like paint, the Plasti Dip will be more durable and adhere better on a sanded and prepped surface vs a glossy surface.
Anyway, back on topic.

I totally agree! We were pretty much just getting started last year but I just did the math quickly in my head but we spent over $5k at M2 Sports last year.
The service is awesome and in the long run, it's worth a couple extra bucks even though pretty much everything I've bought there has been the same or cheaper than online.

Looks great TJ. I assume plasti is slightly matt texture so do you lose any speed with it?

It is a matte finish but if sprayed correctly, can have a pretty smooth texture. I only sprayed the top, down to the edge so I don't think it slowed the board down.

Not hating on how you did the plasti dip I understand why you scuffed it to smooth out some scratches. Just want people to know if you want to try plastic dip and not worry about messing up a nice board you can just clean your board and spray away. And if you don't like it take 2 mins and pill it right off, it doesn't matter how long its been on there it will still come off.
I love the way it looks.

How do u rate the process? I have the 2013 with the AJ boots. By far the best ride I've ever been on! I put 0.8" ronix slider fins on it as I love how it tracks hard but I broke 2 of the standard fins the first week I got it, on rails. I find it gets caught sometimes on rails but still love the boards overall feel.
Will post fotos when I get home.

Not the best person to ask really. A bit new to wakeboarding and bought this at the end of of the season so only got to ride it twice. But wasn't disappointed by it. Only thing I would say is it is quite buoyant and think I could have got away with the 137(?). But so far so good.

Lyman's LF board was really popular, but when he left they just stopped making it. So I wouldn't assume that they will keep making the Soven bindings. Maybe they will, but I wouldn't take it for granted.

Still trying to decide what my new setups will be for this season but thinking for boating I am going to go with the One ATR Edition and One Black Edition bindings. Actually gonna go to she marina tomorrow and check them out. And I just had a cable park open near me so gotta figure out a cable board too. Not sure what to get for that yet but leaning towards Slingshot.

Stopped by Munson Ski my local pro shop to check out some boards. Still leaning towards the Ronix One ATR for boating but wasn't able to check out the new Slingshots because they haven't come in yet. Will have to head back in a month to see them.

I'll be riding my 2008 Hyperlite Murray with an unknown year boot with one torn pull-on hole and a 2011 Slingshot behind my 2001 Malibu with a 2007 yellow jacket rope while wearing a 1990 something vest. My handle is a 2010 but barely used since I have a bunch laying around. All my fuel will be brand new 87 octane with ethanol. I will not be wearing socks and gloves or shorts and a shirt over my wetsuit or vest. Should be a stellar year.

Quick question, how do you guys determine how wide to set your stance and what degrees to angle your boots? I have experience with snowboards but never have set up a wakeboard.

Tony711-
FWIW
I try to set up my wakeboard stance as close as possible to my snowboard stance. But that's for me. I ride 15/12 on both rides between @ 22.5-23" wide.

Hey anthony... set the boots on your board and screw them loosely roughly where you think they'd be, likely with a little duck, then pop your feet in and do a weight-like squat down. If your knees and hips feel good, then you're in the ballpark.
My wake stance is just a hair wider than my snowboard stance... just depends how you ride!

The slingshot hooke with the orange ronix parks looks sweet. I still have my 2011 humanoid oracle with 2011 ronix cells. I am almost done making my own board that will be decent to ride every once in awhile. I am also looking to get the slingshot recoil for a nice board behind the boat.

Unfortunately, with so many upgrades to my boat this year, I can't justify a new setup. Its ok though. My 145 Marek still rides good, and the LF Watsons are OK. I would really like to try the Systems, though! Maybe next year...

I pretty much only spend time at the Wake Park now unless I am out wakesurfing.
The Byerly Jib is pretty fun! I do like how wide and flat the tips/ tails are. Hopefully the board softens up a little bit as the season progresses. It is pretty darn stiff.
Oh, and if you can get you hands on some burton ratchets to replace the hyperlite ones.. butter!
