Hello everyone,

Can anyone pass along some advice on weighting the Sanger V230? The boat has stock triple ballast, and we have available, 2-500# sacs. We put one of the additional sacs in the v-drive compartment, and the other in the walkway, plus 4 people in the boat. The wake was ok, but, not that great. Do we need more weight? If so, where? We ran out of time, otherwise, we were going to try and put one of the sacs in the bow, on the side of the rider . . . never tried it, though.

Thanks alot for any help.

Cheers.

you will want to move the one bag from the walk way to the riders side either in the bow or on the seats.

I found in my boat if i have the center ballast full the wake will wash out no mater how much i have on the surf side.

Hey Barrett,
I have a v215 and I think your boat is larger version of mine, So it will need more weight than mine. I place 500 lbs of lead in the back on the side I will be riding. I fill the front ballast and the stock ballast on side I will be riding. Then I put as much water in the sack as need to sink the boat to the rub rail.

On my V230, we put 700# in the rear locker, 350# in the center tank, 2 people in the bow, and usually around 4 people in the back corner... here's what we come up with

It's looking like we need to put a smaller sac in the bow, and move the additional 500# sac to the rear, (on the side of the rider). We'll give that a try. Thanks.

I put a triangle bow sac filled about 3/4 (750 lbs. or so) and stock ballast filled on the applicable side, then another 250 side sack in which ever side locker your using, then move people around to dial in the wave. I'll try getting a pic soon but we get it pretty dang big. I really believe in the center wieght, it gives the wave more drive, I believe its becuase it really push's the entire boat down and increases the width of the wave.
