vibration issues

I have started to feel a little abnormal vibration in my v-drive, particularly I can hear it and feel it the most sitting in the driver seat. It only does it when I'm just in gear or reversing slowly. I figured it might be something with my prop or shaft, checked them both and they are super sturdy along with the rudder. I'm stumped, my friends had the same boat and I never heard this type of vibration. Also I think it goes away when you get up to wakeboard speed or faster. My tachometer has been really jumpy lately could this be a paddle wheel issue? Where is the paddle wheel typically on a v-drive boat?

prop could be unbalanced or shaft out of alignment or bent.

I'm 100% positive the shaft is straight, I haven't hit anything with my prop but I might have to go over it with a fine tooth comb to double check myself. Do you know what clayton191 is talking about with bearings?

Most likely an alignment issue...depending on the boat, you can feel vibes with as little as .003 inches out of whack...and/or you can slightly bend a prop blade without leaving any sign of impact.

So, I would: pull the prop and take it to a prop shop for a checkup. Inspect the strut bushings for excessive wear, and then check the alignment of the motor.

95 out of a 100 times the vibe is from one of those three issues.

Thanks meathead, looks like a have a nice little task ahead of me. I'm not new to boating but I'm new to all the mechanical aspects to boat engines and outdrives. Where are the strut bushings located? Are those bushings on the shaft coming down and out of the boat? Alignment check on the motor? I checked the motor mounts and they are solid.
