I just received 4 2006 x-10s. Anywho the x-1 will throw a better wake the x-10 has more room. So are you family friendly or core?

the x-10 doesn't have too much more room...

If you look at the specs, you'd think the X10 and the X1 are practically the same same size.

I own an 04 X2 and a buddy of mine has an X10, and let me tell you, the X10 seems like it's at least a foot wider and longer. MUCH more room inside.

On the downside, the X10 wake is very flat and wide.

On the upside, the X10 rides like a dream in rough water, while the X1 will beat you to a pulp in any bad chop.

Like Erik said, are you family friendly, or core?

Blair,
From someone that owns an X10, I am bias, but I will say this.
The X1 is like a Nauti Super Air with regards to the wake and interior sizes. Even handling is similar.

The X10 is wider in wake, and clearly has more interior room.

If your doing the family thing with the boat, got with the X10
If your doing the guys only with wakeboards, I would still say go with the X10.

Add a little extra weight in the back, and your gonna have a wake like the X1 only slightly wider, but overall bigger!

KG you got any pictures of the wake?

its not gonna be as flat as an X-7 is it?

X-7 wake

if its got any more pop than that ill be extreemly happy... (sure beats our 1974 silverline with a 90 O/B)

The X-7 is a DD so it will obviously be more vertical than the X-7 simply because its a V-drive. I've ridden behind the enitre MC line except for the X-star for 04 and a few 05s, and the old X2(X1) had the best wake out all of them. The X-10 was wider and wasn't as steep and the lip wasn't as big. But they are definately similar, the X-10 just takes more weight to make the wake juicy.

Test drive em. I have an '05 x10 and a buddy of mine has an '05 x2. The x2 handles like a porsche but less room while the x10 handles more like a truck, but tons of room/storage and handles nice in rough water- a much better all around family boat. We had a blast this summer.

Wake Link
Here is a decent pic, as I never really take pics of the wake. Boat is loaded with 1100lbs and 5 ppl + full tank in very smooth water. Rider is 5'7" tall but squatting a little, he was new to wakeboarding.

The pic is slightly distorted, but I am trying to find others for you too.

If i buy an X-10 will i be disapointed with the handaling (working on a demo ride for this weekend)

Twitch, go with the X1. The wake you can get out of those things is phenomenal. Very comfortable on the inside for up to 5 people. Once it gets past that, I'd imagine it starts to get a little cramped.

IMHO the X-1 wake is sick ! It is big and has the best transition out there.

the main reason we are leaning more towards the x-10 is that our crew is mostly beginners I am the best of our regular crew and i am far from even being considdered "GOOD" so something with a slightly mellower wake would probably be better for us (aka famialy friendly) but i dont want to regret this purchace and say we should have bout this boat or we should have bought that boat.

i am hoping we can get a demo this weekend and that its not too cold

I say if you have 8 or fewer in you're crew go with the x-1 and ride at shorter line lengths its not harder its better.

Blair,

If you've driven a DD or the X-2, you might be disappointed in how it drives. It really kinda drives like an I/O. But, remember, the boat handles the chop (deeper v), so that's the give and take of it. It just doesn't drive like a sportscar, so don't expect that out of an X10. In trade, you get roomy interior, tons of storage, and a boat that can handle choppy water. We do the river quite a bit, but also Lake Mohave and Havasu, which if you've done those, you know what chop i'm talking about. Boat takes it fine.

Blair,
If I could offer up...
I moved from an X10 to a 205V hull (same as X1) due to the wake. Even if you don't intend to be hardcore, your taste in wake characteristics may become more 'refined'. Our ONLY reason for changing was b/c we rode other wakes (SAN & '00 Xstar/205V hull) and fell in love with the wake characteristics.
I'm sure you can adapt to whichever wake you get, but I would caution against saying "we ARE beginners" and look towards the future.
For wake...205V hull, hands down.

We have a 2001 Maristar 210/X10 hull(extended family boat) and a 2005 205V/X1 hull(our boat). The 210 is a more family friendly boat- more space, softer ride, deeper seats, better cup holders, etc.

Have you considered the new X2? It seems to have better seating/ more room like a X10, yet a wake like an X1. If it's not an option seriously consider the lake you will be on. It's really a decision of trade-offs- wake & handling or comfort and space.

Good luck!

Can the x-10 look anymore like a 247/lsv bu?
